Celtic Pugs concentrates their efforts to breed Pugs, but on occasion will have English Bulldog puppies for adoption.
Because of the added work and expense we do not anticipate to ever breed English Bulldog's exclusively. Pugs are our passion, but we love Bulldogs too.
In memory of Little D.
Little D was a puppy from our first ever English Bulldog litter. She was born with a cleft palate and the vet who delivered her proposed she be euthanized as she would not have a good quality of life. Of course, I refused and after much research decided we would try to make a go of her situation. She was so eager to live and although she was much smaller than her brothers and sisters, she continued to grow.
Every two hours around the clock for the first month, we were there for her, and she was there for us. Mom, Darina, tolerated us 'milking' her to provide Little D. with the best. Little D. was a fighter and soon was more than able to keep up with her siblings and did she ever! Then we finally got her to eat on her own and she was doing quite well.
On Memorial Day that year we noticed a small cough from her. Anyone who knows bulldogs understands this is normal, but as the night came we knew it was not. With her cleft palette she always had some discharge from her nose, but the cough was worsening.
The next morning, there was no improvement so we ran her to our vet who quickly put her on IV antibiotic because that fast she had pneumonia but her prognosis was good. She stayed overnight at our vets and she was well enough the next morning to come home.
After a day, this great fighter seemed to give up so we started to hand feed her one piece at a time. Then she began to fight us feeding her. We introduced IV fluids and she would perk up some. By Friday she had made no improvement and I called my vet to bring her in Saturday. By Friday night she really went downhill and her breathing was labored. We lost her that night and it was the hardest pill to swallow since we became breeders.
We will always remember her bright eyes and her great will to live. She was so much work but we would do it all over again. Our philosophy is that these puppies were brought into the world by our choosing, so it becomes our responsibility to care for them in the best way possible.

The club covers about 5 or more counties, including, Cambria, Blair, Clearfield, Westmoreland, and Indiana. This is an AKC affiliated Club. It is welcome to all Bulldog owners with AKC registration.
